Recent-ish telephone conversation with Instructing Solicitor, Booth having inherited a trial listed the next day:
Booth: Sorry, but I seem to be missing the client’s proof of evidence.
Solicitor: Oh, we don’t do them any more.
Booth: [Silent, momentarily stunned]
Solicitor: Yes, we just do the defence statement.
Booth: Oh. [Pause] Right.
Solicitor: Bye.
